ALCINSURE – Insurance Operations Command Center

Overview

ALCINSURE is an insurance operations portal built for Indus BPO. It brings the entire insurance lifecycle into one system, covering lead generation, quoting, policy issuance, renewals and claims. Agents and processors manage customers and service requests through a centralized interface, while managers get visibility into live activity, task progress, SLA performance and customer satisfaction.

Results at a glance

  • 5 insurance lifecycle stages managed in one portal
  • Automatic renewal reminders assigned to responsible agents
  • Global customer search by name, policy number, phone or email
  • Live dashboards for activity, task progress, SLA and customer satisfaction
  • Built-in help assistant for common operational questions

The challenge

Insurance operations involve multiple connected stages. A lead becomes a quote, a quote progresses into a policy, policies require renewals, and claims need to be tracked through resolution.

When these activities are managed across separate tools and spreadsheets, important follow-ups can be missed, renewals can be delayed and managers lose visibility into pending work.

The objective was to build a centralized portal that follows customers throughout the insurance lifecycle, keeps tasks organized and gives management a clear view of operational performance.

The insurance lifecycle

ALCINSURE organizes insurance operations into five connected stages, allowing agents and processors to manage customer requirements from initial contact through ongoing policy service.

  • Lead generation. Capture new leads and track potential customers through the initial stages of the sales process.
  • Quoting. Create, organize and manage insurance quotes for prospective customers.
  • Policy issuance. Create and manage insurance policies, including policy endorsements and related updates.
  • Renewals. Automatically generate renewal reminders and assign them to the responsible agents for timely follow-up.
  • Claims. Record customer claims and track their progress through resolution, including aging claims that require additional attention.

Customer and service management

Agents can create customer records, search existing customers through a centralized search interface and raise service requests whenever additional follow-up is required.

Global search supports multiple identifiers, including customer names, policy numbers, phone numbers and email addresses, making it easier to locate records without navigating through separate sections.

The dashboard also provides quick actions for frequently performed tasks:

  • Create a new quote
  • Issue a new policy
  • Log a customer claim
  • Add a new customer

Live reporting and operational dashboards

The management dashboard provides an overview of ongoing operations, helping managers identify pending work, monitor service performance and track team activity.

  • Live activity feed. Displays recent operational activity across the portal.
  • Task progress. Compares open and completed tasks over the last seven working days.
  • SLA performance. Displays rolling 30-day service-level performance.
  • Customer satisfaction. Tracks customer satisfaction figures over a rolling 30-day period.
  • Aging claims. Highlights claims that have remained unresolved and require attention.

This gives managers a continuously updated view of operational performance without relying on manually prepared reports.

In-app help assistant

A built-in help assistant provides answers to common operational and navigation questions directly inside the application.

Users can ask questions about creating policies, submitting claims, finding customer records, understanding renewal workflows and contacting the appropriate support team.

By making everyday instructions accessible within the portal, the assistant helps new employees understand workflows and reduces reliance on repeated manual guidance.

Architecture and technology stack

The application combines a Laravel-based backend, relational database and interactive frontend to support insurance workflows, operational reporting and internal assistance.

  • Laravel: Backend application and business logic
  • PHP: Server-side development
  • Python: Supporting automation and processing
  • MySQL: Customer, policy and operational data
  • JavaScript: Interactive application functionality
  • Bootstrap: Responsive interface and UI components
  • Git: Version control and source management
