Overview

A project management and attendance system built with Vue.js and Laravel for Indus BPO. The platform brings project planning, task assignments, employee attendance, and leave management together in one place. Admins, managers, and employees have role-specific access, while departments keep teams and responsibilities organized.

Results at a Glance

  • 3 role levels: Admin, manager, and employee, each with its own access and view.
  • Centralized project management: Projects and tasks created, assigned, and tracked in one system.
  • Employee attendance: Staff can record their own attendance.
  • Leave management: Half-day and full-day leave requests submitted by employees and reviewed by managers.
  • Department organization: Employees and work structured by department.
  • Modern application stack: Vue.js frontend with a Laravel and PHP backend.

The Challenge

Project assignments, attendance, and leave requests needed a centralized workflow. Without a unified system, managers could struggle to track task progress, understand team availability, and manage employee requests efficiently.

The goal was to bring these operations together while enforcing role-based access, ensuring that administrators, managers, and employees could access the information and actions relevant to their responsibilities.

Roles and Access Control

The platform separates responsibilities across three role levels, providing each user with an appropriate view of projects, tasks, and employee operations.

  • Admin: Accesses projects, departments, employees, and tasks across the organization, while also managing their own assigned tasks.
  • Manager: Works with their own projects, tasks, and team, manages assigned work, and reviews employee leave requests.
  • Employee: Views assigned tasks, marks completed work, records attendance, and submits half-day or full-day leave requests.

Projects and Task Management

Admins and managers create projects and assign tasks to employees. Team members can view their assigned work and mark tasks as complete, while managers and administrators monitor progress through the system.

Keeping assignments and completion updates together makes responsibilities clearer and reduces the need to chase progress through separate messages.

Employee Attendance

Employees record their attendance directly in the platform. This creates a centralized attendance record that managers and administrators can use to monitor team availability and support day-to-day workforce coordination.

Half-Day and Leave Management

Employees can submit requests for half days or full-day leave from within the system. Requests are sent to the responsible manager, who can approve or decline them.

This structured approval workflow keeps leave requests organized and records their status without relying on informal messages or email conversations.

Department Organization

Departments provide a structured way to organize employees and their work. Combined with role-based access and project assignments, departmental organization helps keep teams, responsibilities, and reporting relationships clear as the company grows.

Technology Stack

  • Frontend: Vue.js
  • Backend: Laravel and PHP

The application combines a Vue.js interface with Laravel backend functionality to support project management, task workflows, attendance records, and leave approvals.
